Major Findings

• Northeastern states and California are in high demand of labor with data science skills, Texas and Corolado are the most potential data science hubs.

• Bachelor is the most common threshold degree; Computer Science and Mathematics are the most desirable academic background in Fortune 500 companies.

• Python, R and SQL are most required tools.

• Non-Fortune 500 companies prefer more data manipulation tools, while Fortune 500 companies require high-level programming tools.

• Interpersonal Skills, Data Manipulation & Analysis, and Machine Learning are the skills most in need.

• Non-fortune 500 companies focus on general skills, and elementary data analytical skills, while Fortune 500 companies desire advanced and professional data science skills.
